Waving the Banner For Multilevel Marketing

March 10th, 2010

Like a lot of people, my family and friends have taken a variety of career paths. If you ask, most of them will say they are happy, or at least tolerating, their chosen profession. However, when I first mentioned I had gotten involved in a multilevel marketing, or M-L-M, opportunity, their common reaction was one of dismay, followed by an attempt to quickly cover their apprehension. I then found myself trying to eliminate their fears by explaining I was actually involved in a legitimate M-L-M endeavor.

I felt like I was partially calming them down while at the same time proudly proclaiming my decision to journey into the multilevel marketing world. My family and friends are not uncommon when it comes to misconceptions involving most M-L-M companies. While there are some lousy M-L-M’s, a lot of really legitimate ones do exist. Finding a good multilevel marketing program takes some research and it is certainly worth the effort, especially knowing that you will be informing others of your involvement. After enlightening loved ones that I had truly made a good career choice, I forged ahead determined to find other like-minded individuals. Fortunately, this did not take long at all. I simply had to sign up for a few of the seemingly endless line of web 2.0 outlets to find there a quite a few of us proudly waving our M-L-M banners.

One of the most important factors in choosing an M-L-M is finding a company with a highly consumable, or sought after, commodity. One such example is the travel industry, which continues to have dramatic growth. People love to travel and save money, so being involved with this type of opportunity makes a lot of sense. Other keys to success within the multilevel marketing field include making sure the company you become involved with has a solid training program, including providing internet based learning programs, which are known as webinars. Also, having team leaders who respond to your inquiries is hugely important.

Many people join an M-L-M that has been operational for at least two years, as this means the company usually has a good chance of continuing. In addition, it is important to learn about the company’s compensation plan. If you do not understand it, your team leaders should be able to guide you through this.

When it comes to being a team leader, you will find that while people will ask questions about the opportunity, the compensation plan, and the training, their decision to join your team depends on whether they connect with you as a person. To me, it is crucial my prospects find me to be credible and someone they want to work with. This works both ways, of course, since I will want to make sure any prospects I talk with, and decide to work with, are willing and able to learn and want to build a team of their own.

If you are motivated, honest, enjoy learning, along with taking pride in helping others, a network marketing opportunity is something you should strongly consider. Yes, there is work involved, but speaking from personal experience, it is definitely possible to succeed, especially with a strong work ethic. I am very pleased I pursued this path. Along with being a successful team leader, one really nice benefit is my family and friends have realized I made a good choice and they are happy for me as well. Hopefully, we will see each other along the way soon. Here’s to our continued success.
